Goodbye to Ms. Simounet

Thank you very much for all of those men and women who have served in our armed forces...whether or not you made it onto our wall...

What a wonderful group of kiddos...thank you for sharing them with us!  :)

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye (for now) to Ms. Simounet.  We had a wonderful last day at "Hogwarts" with many smiles, laughs, and even several tears.  You were all so very kind to help out with her gift, which ended up as a "3 large gift bag" gift.  :)  Thank you!  View the Hogwarts Day on the community tab.


We will be publishing writing pieces in a few weeks.  Anyone who has BES Publishing experience, please let me know!


I participated in a Webinar earlier this week about what we can do to promote reading in young children.  One piece is a HUGE eye-opener.  If a student reads 65 minutes per day, they read about 4,358,000 words per year.  I require students to read 20 minutes per day for homework.  Students who do this will read 1.8 million words.  For students who read only 4 minutes per day will read only 282,000 words.  I think this is very powerful!  What does this mean?  Have your children read each day!  :)

What a great start to the new year!

We've had a great start to the new year!  I've told the kiddos that I absolutely love to teach this quarter because the content is so interesting and fun!  Please read about all that we will be learning in the content tabs above.

Parent Math Night has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 22nd, from 6:30-7:30.  Hope to see you there!

Also, we WILL have school on Tuesday, January 20th!  This is our first make up day.
